Mentoring Services

Steering your Business in the right direction

At Blue Sky Corporate Finance we appreciate that running a business can often be a lonely and uncompromising place.  Do you sometimes feel that your business needs some financial focus and direction? That’s where having a financial mentor comes into its own.

Our approach is all about giving Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and Managers what they need to make positive changes to the way their business does things.  Let us steer you in the right direction through mentoring, budget planning and timely financial reviews.  In short, we will work with you to get some serious results for your business and prepare you for the next level.

Our Mentoring Service can cover a wide range of areas from advice on preparing business plans and financial forecasts, ensuring your accounts provide you with the management information you require, through to dealing with specific operational problems of the business itself. Every stage of business development poses challenges for the person at the top and at each stage the one-on-one support that we provide can be invaluable to helping deal with those issues.

We start with a one to one strategic review where we agree goals, assess where you’re at right now and formulate a plan of attack. Followed by regular contact to ensure your plans happen. We will provide that essential sounding board, expert advice and perspective to keep you on the straight and narrow and help drive your business to success.

It really does help to work closely with someone that can see and approach things from a different perspective, yet has shared similar experiences to your own.  Our business financial Mentoring Service is designed to help you achieve your stated goals.  We want to pass on our knowledge, and that of our associates, in a way that benefits everyone. We’ll tailor a service to suit you that maximises the return on your investment with us.

Case in Point Scenario:

Company X was a young fast growing business, in a sector which had suffered during the recession, but was still run solely by the owner, whose time was being taken up more and more by operational matters, rather than strategic decisions and marketing the business. The company’s books were still handwritten and management  information was very limited. Blue Sky was appointed as mentors and one of the key priorities identified was the recruitment of an Operations Manager.  Some basic financial forecasts had been prepared to ensure the Company could withstand the   additional cost. This freed up the Owner’s time enabling him to concentrate on growing the business, and focus on giving a more professional image to the outside world. The second issue was the accounting system and it was agreed that a Sage package would be appropriate. Blue Sky worked with the company to design their accounts system such that it would provide the key management information required by the Director directly from the monthly management accounts.

We specialise in helping the owners/managers of small and medium enterprises to become investment ready, raise finance, start up a business, to sell a business, to undertake management buy outs/buy ins and to make corporate acquisitions.
